scotchy is your A3 a manual or DSG? Being a former B7 S4 owner
and also still owning my A3 I just cannot believe an A3 catching up to the V8 powered S4. LOL..your friend must suck :-)

Recall a few months ago when I reported on having some "fun" with a Mitsu Evo?
Despite writing in 72-point all caps that it was NOT a race and proved nothing, I got flamed so bad my Castrol synth boiled in the sump. [grin]

I wish you would have had the ESP off. You MUST have a perfect launch just to keep up with those Stangs and Camaros.

Yes, manual. I honestly thought he was shifting at 5000 or something the time
that I was catching up to him. He was running to redline(or probly past knowing him) His is manual also.
IMO he's a very good driver, better than I am.
IIRC I've seen numbers on 3rd gear passing times (GTI) for manual and DSG and manual was slightly quicker. Perhaps at speed 6spd manual is a bit faster due to gearing. Still doesn't seem right that I was catching up to him tho.
Maybe there is something a little off on his car like I said previously.

What mods do you have on your S4 to pull 11's times? Especially on a heavy avant. Modded EVOs don't even brake 12's. I just traded my V8 B7 S4 sedan for an EVO and A3 (2.0 T); Trust me, the EVO smokes anything Audi is putting out performance wise. The EVO BR350 is puting down 0-60 times of 3.9secs. Bone stock EVO IX MR's are doing 0-60 at 4.8sec. My B7 S4 truly was faster than the A3, however, not as much as one would think. The A3 truly surprised me. If only you could launch without all that darn tire spin. I believe it might hang with a Mustang. They're pretty weak actually.

Hey Timmay, I travelled a similar route as yourself. Recently traded my B7 brilliant red S4 for a 2.0T A3 and a 2006 EVO IX MR. Don't regret it one bit. BTW, was that you with the Porsche. If it was , sweet ride!!
