Get some Yokohama AVS Sports. I put these on my S3 from new. I paid the dealer to exchange them to replace P6000 (family-car tyres!). The AVS Sports are excellent! Their wet weather handling is fantastic with lots of warning that the limit is being reached. So far 9000km and wear is minimal.

I remember reading a little while back about a cure understeer was to fit wider tyres on the front. IIRC, it was on a 1994 RS2 (chipped to 300+ bhp?). Not sure whether Haldex would enable the same benefit.
As you know, S-02s get my vote. On my prvious Audi, they still had plenty of tread at 15,000 miles. I recall RE-71s only lasting 6,000 miles on the front on my Integrale (250 bhp).![Frown](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I don't think you will go too far wrong with any of the "top" tyres - AVS, Pilots etc. The difficulty is not being able to try before you buy - especially at £900 a set!<p>Doug Ramage

No 225/45 ZR 17 Michelin Pilot Sports or Bridgestone Potenza S02 PP's to be found in Turkey at the moment. The only options left are <a href="http://www.tirerack.com/tires/goodyear/gy_f1_gsd2.jsp ">Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2</a> or <a href="http://www.tirerack.com/tires/pirelli/pi_pzero_rosso.jsp">Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetrico</a>.
Of course I can always buy a single <a href="http://www.tirerack.com/tires/pirelli/pi_p6000.jsp">Pirelli P6000</a> to replace the bubbly one.

how long will it take to arrive? Besides in the meantime I have to continue on driving on a bubbly tire. what happens if one of them gets a puncture? or develops a bubble? how much should I wait for a replacement? this wil be too much of a gamble. DO not even hesitate and buy the Good Year Gsd2-F1 set. This is mainly marketed in US and not well known in Europe. You hardly find any test on this set but we tried it a lot of times on very fast cars including Porche and Ferrari.You will see that in dry this is the best. In wet it will perform the same with an SO-2. The overheating problem of high speed long drives of SO-2 is not presented at all with this tire. For the last 4 years this is the only one I am using and it saved my *** a lot of times in very difficult situations. I have them on my S3 now and I am happy that I have them. When searcing for tire look for the production date first. It is written in every tire and freshness is a must. Don't buy any tire older than 3 months. Always use the high speed pressure levels(34 psi for S3) in all 4.
And if you are a fast driver you better change them every 12-13000 km. Even if you see the deep lines still on the tire the rubber material loses its quality and the performance drops dramatically. If you happen to come to the circut race on Sunday tomorrow I will show you cars even racing with these F1's.
One more advise , buy 235/45/17 instead of 225. It is a little higher but performs better on rough and bumpy surfaces. If your car is chiptuned you will achive better figures also.

Is this the successor to the Goddyear Eagle F1? The original F1 got very good reviews for wet handling, less good in the dry and not very good (relatively speaking) at braking distances - it needed an extra 5.4 metres at 70 m.p.h. compared to the S-02.<p>Doug Ramage

Difficult situation. If it were me, I would get another P6000 to replace the bubbled one - too risky to keep driving on it. Then look at importing 4 new tyres of your choice in due course.<p>Doug Ramage

Good in wet, average in dry and quite bad at braking.

There are 3 different F1's you can buy. The one we are talking about is the latest one GSD-2 F1 right ?.
GS F1 had the problems you mentioned. GS F1 Steel was rated better in dry than any competitor. GSD-2 F1 has the best performance overall.
I change my tires every 6-7000 km and belive me tried everything for years. This set is the safest and best performing I ever bumped into. But everone can feel different and want different. It also is related to your driving style.
Good luck with the Pirelli's. Let me know after 1000 km.
