I don't know Igor's reasons, but I can come up with some
a. horrible road conditions and all kind of stuff on the tarmac wear them out much sooner than expected
b. my driving style (sliding exits from corners) gives them a very hard time
c. have to keep them high pressure to avoid bubbles, as a result uneven wear

They start to loose the grip after 6-7000 km's.
There are a lot of reasons for it. But driving 275 km an hour your only contact with life is the wide rubber under me...

What track? There aren't any with 172 mph straights here. We hit the highway, mate :)
