Default Re: won't run w/R-Compound.....

I was able to win my Prepared class last month against R-Compound runners. I'm not *too* far off them on a month to month basis. At most I'm no more than 1/2sec slower.

Default Short course? Lousy drivers? ;o)

All things equal an R-compound will dust the Azenis, and with auto-x it is very driver dependent. I've beaten people on race rubber too, just means I drove better that day.

On a ~60 second auto-x course race tires are good for a second or two.

Default most of our courses are 30-40sec...

plus...(a BIG factor)...here in Florida, track temps get above the temp range where the v710's like to be in...so they get slick.

Default Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas are very nice. Rated higher than th biggest name in performance tires...

In a recent German comparison. For under $200, they are hard to beat.

Default Another vote for the PS2's, got them on my 3.2 and had them on my WRX

Pricey but, the way to go if you've got the cash, IMO. The more wear you put on them, the better they get.

Default Azenis are know

to overheat easily too...ever seen how many spray bottles there are in the grid? More of a problem with a dual driver car, or FL heat I imagine.
