I think it took about an hour to pull out the old stock pieces and install the intake. Pretty straight forward, the only real difficulty I had was pulling the plastic pipe from the turbo or whatever you call it.
I immediately took it for drive and could already hear the difference when lightly tapping on the gas. At about 3000rpm you can totally hear the turbo spool up and the whoosh sound when you let off the gas. It just sounds meaner now. I honestly can't say there was a difference in hp or torque with the Neuspeed intake.
But my next step is to get Revo and an exhaust, so I'm sure the combination of all 3 will mind blowing.
Also wanted to let everyone know, I installed Neuspeed's torque arm insert. The was a real *itch! I think the original bolt use some super heavy duty Loctite on the threads.
Installing the actual piece is pretty easy. I lubed it up with lots of grease and used a floor jack to push it in.
I have the 6spd tranny and felt the benefet of the bushing right away. Not sure how to really describe it, but it seems to take away a lot of "slack" when I'm changing gears. Everything just feels tighter and crisper.

You will really like the REVO with your A3. I don't know what octane you are using. Here in Texas, we have 93. I have my boost set to 7 and timing on 5.....probably could go higher on the timing, but I haven't data logged yet.
The REVO alone changed the top speed from 132 to 145. We will be installing a full downpipe and 3" exhaust, plus a cold air intake. George Osmun, the Director of U.S. sales for REVO, said the differences made his A3 a real "beast". He has, like I do, the DSG...which is marvelous!
By the way...I was in Paris this week and saw the new TT's, plus got a brochure on the R8, in French. The new TT is a little more muscular looking than the earlier style.
Have fun!!!

By looking at your graphs, it looks like you had significantly more boost with REVO than with APR. Do you know what the timing value with REVO was set to? I might be that the REVO timing was set too high, and that is why you were getting the knock sensor values. If you were running 93 octane fuel, the max on the timing on the 2.0 would probably be 5, maybe 6. The boost you were actually getting with the REVO looks much better on your data than the APR.
As far as staying away from one ECU mod to another, the question would be did you try, (or your installer try) different values.....or did you, like so many people tend to do, want your values turned up as high as they could be.
It looks like you have some good data log figures, but the question is still what parameters were used and what settings were used to get the figures. The blanket statement you made to stay away from one supplier as to another I hope is made with substantial testing with like values. A better statement might be that your personal preference is with one supplier over another...but when you say "better stay away" from something makes it sound like you know everything there is to know about the product and that it is harmful.

and logged those as well, with every adjustment upwards being worse.
If you look at the link, I am not the only person who has experienced this with REVO. Most of the other people who logged their cars came up with similar results.
Now from this new thread today . . . I'd definetely say stay away from REVO.

We will be dynoing our A3 in a week or so and will adjust the parameters for boost and timing up and down...at the same time, I will data log the boost and the knock of the engine. At the current time, there are no mods to the car, except for the installation of REVO software. We have STOPTECHs in stock to install, NEUSPEED springs, as well as a full exhaust system and a full cold air intake, but we won't install the engine performance mods until after we dyno it. We will then go back to the dyno after the mods are installed.
This will be done with 93 octane fuel. I'll report the data here on the forum
On our TT race cars, we kept upping the timing until we got values of 5 plus on our logging on block 115. The engines in the cars are totally stock with the exception of REVO, and a catback 3" exhaust. We cannot even install a cold air intake (SCCA T3 rules). We got...at the wheels with a Dyno Jet...217 hp and 285 ft. lbs. of torque. The best we got out of a competitor to REVO's program was 197 hp and 243 ft. lb. of torque.
There are several options to choose from on the market. I have personally flashed over 100 VW/AUDI's with REVO and have had zero issues related to the programming. The only problems that have come up have been on higher mileage cars that developed misfires that were related to ignition coils or worn spark plugs. If my customers have been disatisfied, they have not passed that on to me.
We all want to keep abreat of the market and what is going on.......and certainly REVO, along with the others is not infallible. My experience has been if a problem were to come up, the engineers want to know it so they can analyze the problem.
I have been at the Nurburgring for testing with REVO and watched a particular engineer spend hours working to get the best out of their GT3 Porsche....very impressive at his attention to detail.
As I stated earlier, I am not questioning your data itself, as I will do testing of my own. If a problem exists, I want to get it corrected. Did you dyno your A3 with the REVO and then with the APR, or just data log. I would be interested in the results.
thanks..........Don Istook

Revo makese more boost, more boost is more power, more power is more heat.
If you want a conservative tune, turn the **** down on Revo. At least you have the option.
