Both direct and port injection on the grounds of "improved efficiency"...yea right!

More like tacit admission that they haven't found a solution to the GDI engine inlet coking problems. Wonder how many other GDI engine manufacturers will be hot on Audi's heels with this hybrid injection system on "efficiency" grounds.

Sounds like a lot of extra complication and even more stuff to go expensively wrong though. I still feel that GDI still has a looooong way to go development wise.

I remember seeing a commercial or reading something about another car mftr using both to help with 'efficiency' as well recently. Of course it's to help keep down the gunking up of the innards... ugh. Can't remember who it was - Kia or Toyota - maybe Lexus?

Default I'm hoping we get the S3 Sedan...

http://www.motortrend.com/auto_shows..._2013_audi_s3/

Sadly, the Audi S3 will once again not make it to our shores. We can hope that maybe Audi will grace us with an S variant of the upcoming A3 sedan, but until then we'll have to pine from across the pond.

Seems like every month we hear a different story. I'll believe it when Audi formally announces it...
