Hi,
I'm new to the site and forums. I would just like some advice please. I have decided to get a new Sportback 2.0L T FSI But cannot decide if I should go for Quattro or DSG, I don't want to get both as keeping costs down due to it being paid by a pcp and want to stay within my budget. Just wondering what you reckon would be better on this car.
Thanks.

IMHO DSG. Quattro is up a level in emissions, 14% worse on fuel, 60kg heavier and marginally slower. In the UK You can have a Quattro in September or DSG in November but I was not given dates for the two combined. I am not even sure they will bring out a 2TFSI Q with DSG as that doesn't leave much room for the 3.2 v6.

DSG is good but limits the tuning options if you want to increase the power.
200 BHP through the front wheels only, needs a lot of electronic stability control to make it civilised, the quattro would handle the power better.
Have you test driven a car with DSG, you'll either love it or hate it.

Handling especially in wet conditions will be superior...
DSG is nice, but as GMJ said the current DSG offering has very limited tuning potential...

quattro is a lot of fun (if you never experienced DSG before)
DSG is a lot of fun but without quattro I personally wouldn't buy it.
Both together is a blast !

Thanks for your advice..I won't be tuning or pushing the car too much, seems like everyone rates quattro before dsg.
This is just going to be my car to commute/run around in as my wife has a CRV which she uses as more room for our baby....

Quattro or DSG ???...difficult one...if you can afford it...both...if not...Quattro wins everytime...
I have an A3 2.0TDI (2004) with Quattro that has now been chipped by AMD to 183bhp...totally awesome.

Go for Quattro, especially if you later want to chip the car, since DSG can't handle a lot of torque. And with that amount of power, 4WD is nice.
