Audi has had to finally acknowledge that the pool of American buyers willing to pay more than $30,000 for a hatchback is shallow.
Uhhh. Q7, Q4 and all Avants are hatchbacks.
A sedan A3 is just a VW Jetta with lockwashers, and doesn't interest me one bit. The size will be pretty equal to our A4 sedan, so what is the point?

can someone link me to some photos of the actual sedan? Ive been looking all over, seen a couple concepts but havent really seen the sedan. Also does anyone know if it will be available in 2.0t with awd? Thanks

A small light 2.0t Quattro car.... How is no one interested in that! The A4 has gotten heavy every generation since the B5. Imagine a B5 with a 2.0t in it?!

Interested in a Light Quattro car. I don't believe the new A3 sedan will be able to weigh in at 2800lbs. That will be a light Quattro.
What I am not interested in is a sedan, or a Jetta with lockwashers. I want a hatch with usable rear space. Make it a car not a truck while you are at it and we are good.

Interested in a A3 Quattro, 4 door, hatch, with a stick..... For certain. I have had a bunch of A4's and the new one is too big and heavy to really be fun, even with a stick. How do I know? I just sold one after 8 months...

Absolutely. Sedans *never* handle as well as their hatch/wagon counterparts, offer less utility and (IMO) don't look as good either.
Keep the sedan on the other side of the pond (though I think people there are too smart to go for it in large numbers, and send 5-doors to us.
