So I pulled the trigger (at least put a refundable deposit down) on an 07 A3 2.0t, s-line, tech, cold weather, and open sky... I'm quite excited.
But then I read in the October issue of European Car that Oettinger has modded was appeared to have come from the factory as a 5 door 2.0t quattro (the article specifically said 4wd and then awd in the tech summary - so not real clear on Haldex vs torsen Quattro). My heart sank... lack of quattro with the 2.0t is the only thing that kept me from buying the car sooner.
Given the way the tt was introducted (fwd first) I'm a little sketched out that we're going to see an a3 2.0t awd (quattro or haldex) introduced in the next 6-12 months. Anyone read this article and understand it differently - or perhaps have heard anything new on AOA's plans to bring a 2.0t quattro to the states?
Buyer's remorse sucks... but driving a lexus suv isn't that thrilling either.
Sorry, no link to the article.

I think the Oettinger Car they reviewed is in Germany... And the 2.0T quattro has been an available model in other parts of the world. As for whether or not it will be added to the lineup here, other people can probably answer that better than me...but I personally am doubting it.
Oh, and I think it is Haldex (like it is on the 3.2)? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

An A3 2.0T quattro might cut into the A4 sales here in North America? That would be my guess based on the pricing...IIRC, there were other possible reasons... anyone?
