Not happy with my Dice ipod integration. Do you have the same problems?

I recently purchased the Dice i-Audi-T2 for my 2006 A3 2.0T. It is connected to the factory Concert head unit. Car config dip switches on the Dice are set to OFF, OFF and iPod config switches set to ON, ON (iPod mode). Problems I have so far:
1) After ignition is turned off and key removed, iPod pauses but remains charged. Have to turn on and off the head unit to make it not charge.
2) After starting the vehicle, ipod plays automatically even when the head unit is off. Then if you turn on the radio (in FM mode) you will hear music from the iPod in the background. Have to manually pause the iPod to continue listening to the radio.

as well as Satellite so as of right now Dice is telling me their iPod integrator will not work as there are no "free" inputs?...does this make sense?

As others have said, #1 is normal. But #2 is not, in my experience, especially the iPod playing "by itself."
To fix that, disconnect the iPod, key off, disconnect the DICE power (unplug it from the CD changer socket).
Sometimes you can reset the DICE box simply by turning the HU on and off in CD mode without bothering to unplug the DICE cable, but if that doesn't work, the cable trick will. I've only had to do this twice in many months of use.
