Hallo! Looking to buy an A3 3.2Q DSG Sportback very shortly, and I'm very much torn on the Open Sky sunroof option.

Looking at the various threads here, it seems a lot of people are having issues with either:

1) Wind noise at moderate or high speeds, regardless of whether the roof is open or not

2) The cheap plastic clips that hold the cover seem to snap quite easily


Can I ask for a show of hands for those who have Open Sky, and an indication of whether you have enjoyed or regretted it? Ta!

I have neither of those issues with the OSS on my 3.2

Haven't had a prob with the OSS either, although I have heard that the roll-up cover does get snagged sometimes.

I'm in SoCal, so FWIW, this summer, the car did not get unbearably hot even though you can't make the cover opaque. No problems so far, knock on wood.

I didn't really want one but got it for resale reasons. Now that I have it, I like it.
My guess is that about 90 to 95% of A3s have one.

Clip broke on day one (or was it day two?) and got fixed within 15 minutes. Not a big deal.

No wind noise on mine.

Only issue I may have in summer is the perforated shade. I might have to swap for an opaque one (aftermarket).
