Default Our A3 sport came with Michelin Primacy Pilot tires...

based on what I had heard I was expecting Pirelli tires.

Won't be able to drive them hard for awhile. Noticed that they do seem to be on the noisy side.

Anyone know much about this tire and how it compares to the Pirelli's?

Default I use them on my 2001 A3-T...

Been great.
Did try a set of Pirellis that were a bit cheaper (can't remember the name of the tyre, sorry) and they just didn't feel as 'happy' on the car.

The PP's are good in the wet and once cut in, certainly seem to hold nicely without too much squeel when pushed.

I chose them for my A3 T when I renew the tires. It's been great so far.

Default WOW Hope my A3 sport comes with Michelin Primacy Pilot tires...

WOW! I hope I get those too. I have had pirellis on several cars (they came new with the car). THEY are the most over rated and worst tires I have ever had. It's almost insulting Audi would try to shove these down our throats on a new car!

Michelins are hard to knock. Living in the Northesat they seem to be a great 4 season tire while still givng great performance with great wear.

Default Had those on my B6 A4 and they were OK. They got noisy by 20,000miles...

but nothing compared to the noise from my Yoko ES100's.

Default I have them on my '02 A4 Avant...Never again....

They came installed when we bought the car new. For the most part they are very nice tires. BUT, as others have mentioned and as you will see if you visit TireRack for user comments, they are unbearably noisy. Really, they are by far the noisiest tire I've ever owned. The noise seemed to really intensify around the 15-20k mark.

Oh, and don't even think of driving on these during the winter.

Default My B6 A4 Sport came with Dunlop Sport 9090s

and I thought the other Sports came with Michelin Sport Contacts, but based on previous posts here it may have been the Pilots? Back in 2002 the Sport Pack only came with summer tires and it was pot luck which brand you got. They only started offering the all seasons after the lawsuits started piling up.
By the way I just filled out my Michelin USGP ticket refund form today, I don't planning on buying that brand in the future. Took my 83 year old father to Indy for Father's Day and that turned out to be a complete waste of time. We'll see what comes on the 3.2 Quattro, Michelin certainly won't stop me from considering it.

Default Recently upgraded to Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's...

Got them last weekend. I live in a "non" all-season state (Texas) and the Pirelli's were driving me nuts due to their terrible traction...

The Michelins are awesome, like glue...

Plus, gotta have new rubber if APR really is getting 300 hp from the 93 oct reprogram (that's nuts!)
