Hey guys,
So My 2006 A3s 2.0t FWD is giving me the engine code P0445.
this code covers too much for me to look at with a rented OBDII scanner.
From what home work i have done this is all the possible problems.
a) Absent or tampered fuel cap. (replaced)
b) De-linked or faulty fuel tank pressure sensor. (dont know where this is)
c) De-linked, damaged, pinched, or blocked EVAP purge line. (no pinched lines that I can see, But may be looking in the wrong spot)
d) De-linked or erroneous EVAP canister purge valve. (dont know where this is)
e) De-linked or incorrect EVAP vent solenoid. (??)
f) Open ignition feed circuit to the EVAP vent or purge solenoid. (??)
g) Tampered EVAP canister. (only people to work on the car is Audi Dealers)*(??)*
h) Leaking fuel sensor assembly O-ring. (During fueling no fuel leaks from the car. Nor does it leak while parked)
i) Leaking fuel tank or fuel filler beck. (no leaks)
I have replaced the fuel cap TWICE! on with a cheap AutoZone one then an Audi OEM.
I dont know how else to check this problem out.
I know a VAG-COM scan would be helpful but i dont have, or know anyone with one.
Im in Salt Lake City UT. PLEASE PM me if you can help me out.
ANY AND ALL INFO ON THIS PROBLEM IS MORE THAN WELCOME!!

Good info on this here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...46#post4140746
Hate to say it, but it likely has to do with the evap solenoid.

Thanks for your insight Chris.
I called the dealer on the EVAP Solenoid. Picked it up for 15 bucks.
Tech also advised a new vacuum hose. I got that too, but that was x2 as much @($38)
Dealer had asked if I've replaced the gas cap. Told them yes. They seemed positive that the new parts would fix the problem.
So... home from work new parts installed and codes cleared.
I started up the car 3 times and let it run for 5 mins each time, no codes thrown.
Drove to a friends house 20 miles round trip. No CEL. Also the information display hasn't been telling me to check the gas cap either. So I hope all is well with the P0445 problem.
Ill post up a follow up and if any other codes show up.
THANKS AGAIN!

Glad to help! Do the forum a favor and post up the P/Ns for what you replaced. This is becoming a more common problem as the vehicles get older.

I was told the hose is usually returned by the tech as n un-needed part. But i got it to make sure.
