For people who have the open sky option....

...the interior stays fairly bright though when closed, so it's obviously not complete blockage. The interior does tend to get hotter when parked outside on a hot day but my grey interior still stays much cooler than it would with a black interior and no sunroof. I would probably not consider the open sky with black interior unless you went ahead and added tint to the open sky. Some have done this but I think the official word on this is no-no. Do search for more on the debate on this.
Overall I've been very happy with the open sky and am glad I got it. The negatives are more nit-picky than anything else and the pluses are really strong (bright interior, "cool" factor of two sunroofs, etc). The worst thing in my opinion is the fact that it doesn't retract as much as it might appear (I'd prefer another 4" open or so).

it was necessary to go with tinting. After my shade latch broke, my car cooked while I awaited a fix from Audi, but tinting completely solved the problem.
If you don't live in the sunbelt, you might be able to get by without tinting depending on your interior color. For me though, tinting worked best.
