Default Picking up my A3 DSG tonight!

Downsizing after two allroads (the best cars I ever had). I do so much City driving (San Francisco) that I have been wanting a smaller car for awhile now. Partking is also an issue. And Gas. The dings in my bumper on the allroad was questioned as I turned it in. Is that not what bumpers are for? I fit those cars in spaces that only an A3 should fit!!! I am getting a black DSG with Sports package (black interior) and all the timmings. That transmission kicks *** after the turbo lag in the allroad. Almost Just as quick though not as heavy by a long shot. They gave me a Cayanne loaner for the weekend (a 6 cylinder) and I got to say I was so not impressed. Very slow. The 8 is probably better but the gas mileage. Way too big and heavy-even the sound system of a dissapointment. I would take the allroad over the Porsce anyday. Even my new A3.

Now what about this iPod Audi hookup coming this summer. I hear it cannot be used with in 6 CD changer in the glove box. That's not cool!!??

Default Be forewarned, with mostly city driving, don't expect lofty gas mileage.

My first tank of mostly city driving yielded just under 20mpg. I'm about to put in my second tank, but I did a couple of long freeway trips, so it's going to be better than that I'm sure. Still, I'm doubtful I'll see that 25mpg estimate on the sticker for city driving with my commute on any consistent basis.

That aside, this car rocks!

I understand but still better mileage than the allroad 250 HP turbo!

Default I'll second that...

I just calculated 22mpg with all city driving (not-DSG).

Im sure that on long trips 30+ mpg is possible....or if you just drive like a sissy! : )

Default This is the first time I have notice a huge change in consumption as the car settles in

When I first got the car I was getting 250 miles to a tank through the first 1000 miles. I drove all 1000 mi in break-in mode. I am just about to tick over the 2000 mark and have gotten up to 350 a tank. Average consumption has also decreased from 25.5 to 26.4. At 80mph on a motorway, I get about 30mpg average...well chuffed about the engine...

BTW, here are other numbers I have experienced at different speeds. Mind you, I have a 2.0T quattro manual. The following are observed over 100 miles of mostly flat motorway.
70mph == 35mpg
75mph == 32mpg
80mph == 30mpg
85mph == 28mpg
