Pics of my E90 330i for Timmay and others

Well, I have to say that the E90 boards are not nearly as informed and cool as this one, and I miss AudiWorld a lot. I had told Timmay that I would stop in and post some pics and impressions of my 330i, so I want to follow through. I hope I am not crashing the party too much!
I am loving my E90 330i, and have no regrets there, but I still remember the fun I had test driving the A3 2.0T. I think for all around fun driving, the A3 is a winner. The overall balance of the 330i and handling at the limit is really impressive, but it is maybe not as tossable as the A3 around town (where most of us drive). Luckily, I drive a lot on the open highway where the 330i can shine. So far I am averaging 24.5 MPG in the car (mostly highway driving) and I am noticing an improvement as the engine breaks in. I am getting close to 400 miles per tankful of gas which is nice. I have about 2000 miles on the car now.
On my 330i, I have Sport Package and Satellite prep as the only options. It comes standard with Xenons and Logic 7 13 speaker stereo. I have black leatherette interior (which isn't bad actually) and aluminum trim. It's not quite as nice as an Audi interior, but it's nice enough I guess. Pretty roomy too.
So far, I have installed the Aluminum Pedal kit and factory alarm myself, but I still have to get the alarm activated at the dealer.
I took most of these pictures on drives through Big Sur and in and around Cambria. I hope you enjoy!

How long ago were we talking about you posting pics..please refresh my memory. You didn't own an M3 previously did you? Btw, that must be nice to get 400 miles to a tank. I've only managed around 300 or so on the A3.

It was probably about May 20th or so that we were talking. I could be wrong. I am pretty sure it was you. If not, I apologize. I have had the car since May 27. Didn't have an M3 before (I wish). I had a Jetta GLX. I have always been a VW/Audi guy until now. I have had 2 A1 GTIs, a Passat, and the GLX. Went to the "dark side" this time.
The tank in the 330i is at least 14 gallons, which explains the 400 miles. It's the best range I have ever had in a car so I am loving it.

No I believe you, you're probably right but I just couldn't remember..sorry. It makes sense that I would be interested because I came from the "dark side" :-) Well, the A3 has a 14.5 gallon tank and I still can't touch 400 miles, at least with MY driving habits.

but recently I drove nearly all 400 miles of one tank on the highway and averaged 50 mph. I got 24.5 mpg on that tankful. I usually averaged about 17 mpg when driving in the city!
One nice thing BMW did with the E90 motor was make it more powerful AND efficent. The mpg actually went up in the E90 when they gained 40 hp with the same displacement.
The Audi FSI technology has the ability to drastically improve fuel economy (witnessed in the R8 race car being so fuel efficient) and increase power as well.
I continue to be really excited about FSI and DSG as technologies to watch for the future.
Anybody else going to the ALMS event in October at Laguna Seca? I can't wait to watch the R8s and Aston Martin DB9s race. I have to miss the Infineon Event this month due to a wedding but I will be at Laguna Seca in October. (Oh darn, I will have to drive through Big Sur again on my way up!).

Can somebody fire that guy out of a cannon so we can get some good looking Beemers back?
I heard some other guy was in charge of this (3-series) design. Since they can't admit that the look doesn't work on anything short of the 7 series, they continue on the "interesting" design motif.
Interior looks great, though.
