I ran into this TSB today on Bentley that I thought those with 2.0L TFSI engines should know about. Basically it effects high pressure fuel delivery and would show up as lack of power and hesitation.
MIL on (DTC P2293 in ECM)
15 07 02 June 18, 2007 2013147/4. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 21 number 06-04 dated Dec. 11, 2006 due to addition of description of one of the main conditions that can result in the storage of P2293.
Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment
A3 2006 - 2007 All
A4 2005 - 2007 All
A4 Cabriolet 2007 All
2.0TFSI Engine
Condition
MIL on. The following DTC is stored in the ECM
data memory:
? P2293 (Fuel pressure regulator 2 performance) at times in combination with:
? P0087 (Rail fuel pressure too low)? P1093 (Fuel trim 2, bank 1 malfunction)
Technical Background
Excessive wear of the cam lobe (in the intake camshaft) that drives the high pressure fuel pump. This limits the maximum pump piston lift, causing fuel rail pressure fluctuations. The wear on the cam lobe also leads to wear in the base of the high pressure fuel pump cam follower.
Production Solution
Increased surface hardening of the camshaft lobe for the high pressure fuel pump.
Improved intake camshafts have part number 06F 109 101 B.

They have been replacing the cams and followers on cars. The original bulletin is says it superscedes was just to call tech line before doing any repairs. They wanted to keep track of the cars with problems and make sure they got hte upgraded cam.
I have pics of the before and after. I'll see if I can find them and put them in my picposter.

long story made short
in december I got APR stage 1, 93 octane, and I kept getting these "hesitation" issues, the accelerator pedel would just kinda "go limp"
tried many solutions non worked, so I refunded the APR and went back to stock.
issues kept happening, the dealer replaced on fuel pump under warranty while it was chipped.
a few months after I got APR removed the problem kept happening.
I got the I-3 recall done.
the dealer said they would not repalce another fuel pump beacuse I was flashed, I told them I had it removed and they the I-3 recall they preformed would have erased it anyway and I still had these issues.
I think I can now prove this problem is not related to the APR that was removed in December. I did not see the problems until March again, then did the I-3 recall and still problems
so there is no way it could be a "ghost" left in there by APR as my dealer is trying to claim.
