Default Quattro ?! Ha!

OK. So it was only 3 or 4" of snow/slush/sleet. It was the 1st real test for the baby A3, and the Michelin X Ice shoes. I'm actually relieved. After 2 A4's, I was a little apprehensive to be w/o my Q. A number of streets were not plowed, and, I did a few parking lots, ramps, parking spots, where w the drop, I thought I could have some issues. None. As always w the A3, it's more about throttle modulation than anything. take it easy. But A3 pulled thru no problemo. And the stopping distances, braking, with the Michelin snows are great. Better than my A4 w Dunlop snows. Very pleased. Enjoy the Winter!

Default How come the car looks so low in the rear?

I have seen your other pics and it looked much better. Seems like you have someone in the trunk???

Default Re: Quattro ?! Ha!

On a recent trip to NH I still missed Quattro.

Directional stability (lane changes, cornering) in the slop were actually better than my 98 A4 1.8TQ, or at least as good, and they oughta be given that these are the exact same wheels and tires (Dunlops). Plus that A4 always felt a tad "floaty" on the highway anyway, compared to the "rails" the A3 travels on.

But I got stuck on a slight incline. Admittedly it was a torture test: Start from dead stop, no room to back up or rock much, fresh inch of light powder on top of wet, icy compressed snow at around 24F. But I'll bet the A4 woulda walked right out of that driveway. A Honda Pilot parked right next to me did.

Oh well, like you say, easy on the loud pedal for now.

Default and she only comes out at night ;-)

I think it may be the grade. it does sit lower rear than front. but no change really since day like 14 after the drop, after it settled
