Symptom: rattling sound, seemingly from behind glovebox. happens at idle with our without brakes. Giving blip of throttle to raise RPMs slightly alleviates it. It's totally annoying. Dealer denies hearing it.
Supposedly, there was a service bulletin having to do with fuel line slapping the firewall (?). Does anyone know about this or have the bulletin number? (couldn't find it)
Thanks for any help. I need it.

The description I've seen for the bulletin is as follows:
FUEL LINE RESONANCE (PULSE) PERCEIVED AS RATTLING NOISE FROM PASSENGER-SIDE FLOOR OR FOOT WELL AREA
I'm not sure if any of these is a bulletin number but this is what I've seen listed:
July 6, 2006, 2012395
and there's also this number: 075663
Basically this bulletin instructs the dealer on what needs to be done to resolve the issue. This involves repositioning and installing fuel line insulators. The document also claims that no damage results from this contact.
I've been noticing a similar rattling myself occasionally so I was interested when I came upon this bulletin.
I'm guessing the dealer is just avoiding having to do any work especially since the problem is relatively minor. Given the bulletin they should be aware of the problem.

(unless I bring proof, they're just going to say the same thing again: "Don't hear it.")

or protective defects. This problem is noted in Technical Service Bulletin 20-08-07 "Rattling noise under passenger's side floor near glove compartment".

Just phoned the service department. They deny that there's any service bulletin for A3 rattling noises.
Guess I'll try the DIY fix:

(If you've done this fix and know which TORX is needed, let me know. Thanks.)
