Hi,
I was hoping somebody had first hand experience in changing the rear brakes on an Audi A3 mark one.
(I recently changed the front brakes without issue so feel confident in trying this)
However, the Haynes manual has somewhat confused me by instructing that I 'slacken the handbrake cable' (refer to this section to remove the centre console and that section to loosen clips etc) - is there any chance I can just lower the handbrake lever (i.e. handbrake 'off') and then remove/replace the rear brakes or is loosening the handbrake cable essential?
Thanks in advance.
