Default rear sway bar installed - ahhhh....

I've got the H&R 22mm rear sway bar installed on the firmer setting, and I'm very happy with it.

When cornering, my premium suspension A3 feels solid at last!
I would also say ride has gone from firm(-) to firm; not bad at all.

Thanks for your input,
- ic

Default hope you didn't lube the bushings

they are not meant to be and they will fail if you do. Talking from experience here...

Default How do sways affect how firm the ride is?

They typically don't impact that as all they do is couple the left and right side of the car. During straight ahead driving the sway bar size is immaterial.

The car may ride flatter, but shocks/springs are what usually impacts how firm a car rides.

Default

you're forgetting that roads aren't 100% smooth and that we all don't drive in straight lines

they got soft and the bar bangs around now. New bushings that are not greased will be perfect

Default I understand that...

I've just never heard of people saying sways do anything to impact how firm the car rides.

Default Re: sprayed with WD40...

The bushings weren't greased, but they did get sprayed with WD40...
I hope that's OK!

I'll report if I hear any banging from the bars.
How long before the bushings got soft?

Default well I'll say that there's a noticable difference between soft & firm settings

on both the H&R & Neuspeed swaybars . . . not to mention the addition of either of these bars makes the ride noticably firmer than stock.
