Greetings I'm a new member, an Audi convertee from the 911 world. The kid knows he can drive my low miles S3 into redline in M mode while accelerating. How confident should I be that the car will self-shift away not too far into red before the redlining damages the engine?

My 2007 S3 manual if it over revs will cut the power. Other words the engine drops in revs automatically to protect the motor.

Much thanks for the feedback richierichs3. That is great news, now I can relax. I've gone through a half quart of oil in 800 mi; hope that's normal :-)

They are well known to use a bit of oil, especially when pushed. Mine has a stage 2+ tune and needs topping up between services.
