Default Would not stay in 4th thru 6th. You'd depress the clutch all of the way, match revs,

put the lever in the desired gear, let out the clutch, and when the clutch plate was about to bite, the gearbox lever would pop back into neutral. Tried double clutching and that didn't fix it either. The word was a bad slider. Apparently bad from factory and tech didn't catch it during PDI because he drove it in town to the gas station and didn't try the higher gears.

"They'll give you a loaner in the meantime." No they won't, so I am stuck with the problems now

Default Does your car have problems that require it staying overnight? If so, AoA

pays the dealer $27 a day. If not, they do not pay them a cent.

Default Keep notes/log of all of the problems

It should help the service dept. and it helps you if you need to write to AoA. I added it up and I lost about a day of work over the first A3. It's frustrating when you're not used to a car needing to be taken to the dealership frequently.
I took delivery of the replacement A3 last week. I had to weigh the problems and grief I had with the original A3 against the factors I like about the A3 to decide if I was going to keep the replacement or sell it. So far, I'm keeping it, but when it wouldn't start a few days after I picked it up, I did start having second thoughts.

Default Yes, they want it overnite, but said I had to rent due to Audi not offering loaner.

I did not buy car from them but have my wife's 2002 a4 and my car serviced from them.

Does purchase place make a difference? We had this "discussion" before on the survey detail, but I have not dumped on the current servicing dealer...

I am inclined to take it else where or dump it if I keep getting jacked around. It wouldn't start 3 times in a row tonight....It is embarassing when the neighbors keep beating on me to buy American (we all work for American car companies...shhhhh, don't tell please)

Default Re: Not to be paranoid, but ...

When my 1st wife worked at a steel mill near Chicago (25 years ago), her Mazda was sabotaged while in the company parking lot; sugar in the gas tank, as I recall.
