Default Remote windows AGAIN, dealer doesn't know HOW to enable it, HELP!

So I went to the dealer again after talking on the phone and getting them to agree to enable the windows up/down with the remote.

He (chief electrical tech) took the car right in hooked it up came back 10min later. He explained they did not know what the code was for it and with his tool it's not simple like the VAG-COM. Here is the print out of how the codes work for him and what he needs to change.

If anyone has any idea how this is done or if your dealer has done it for you can you give me the dealers contact info so I can have them call.

I will say the service was very good, first time at an Audi dealer for service. I didn't even buy my car there! But the service manager knew my father who has purchased all of his Audi's there, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Anyway HELP!! Thanks!

Default Audi instructs the dealerships NOT to enable that feature.

But doesn't dictate how to explain why. The standard response is that it's not available on your model, or they don't have the code or what ever. Reason being is that Audi doesn't want to be sued by somoeone who's interior was ruined or personal items were stollen because there was rouge radio frequency that unintentionally opened the windows without the car owners knowledge. The chances are slim that it would happen but the possibility exists.

Default He is going about it the wrong way....

Not that you can blame him since Audi doesnt' tell them how to do it.

You need to go into the comfort control module.. then go to adaptation channels.. Then 17.. change the 0 to a 1 and that turns on remote comfort features...

Can you do that w/ VAG-COM and a standard cable or do I need a CAN cable?

Default CAN cable is required on the new models.

Default Umm...

A "rouge" frequency isn't going to lower your windows any more than it's going to unlock your car.

Default Haven't been around much huh?

I was at a wedding a few weeks back, when we walked out I pressed the unlock button on my remote.. my car unlocked as did a 4 runner a few cars down.. No one else was out side.. my remote did it.

I"ve also known of couples who's remotes have become synced together.. both owning VWs.. where they can do both cars with one remote.. because they just picked up the same random sequence at one point during code roll over..

It happens all the time.

Default It looks too good to be true...

I'd personally only go for the Ross-Tech genuine cable.

Default Just asked ross-tech IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!

They just copied and pasted from their site for the ad... They say no it won't work.

A3 100% requires CAN enabled cables for scanning even the engine.. So old cables will not even work for the engine module like originally thought.
