Replacing my stock tires. What's the widest I can go on stock s-line wheels?

Replacing my stock tires. What's the widest I can go on stock s-line wheels?
Should I just go with the OEM sizes (225/45/17 i believe?) or should I go slightly wider? Any suggestion is appreciated!

235/40-17s which are also a little shorter typically like 1/2 inch are as wide as I've seen.
If anybody has 245/40s on stock rims and they clear the struts, I'd love to know about it.
