Hi
I am expecting delivery of a 99 Audi A3 in a day or two and have been told that the Chorus R/T head unit is too old (doesn't have the buttons) to add a changer. I've been given two alternatives: 1. to take this radio out and fit a standard HU with trimming around the outside to fill it out (dubious). 2. to fit an RF CD Changer in the boot. I have had mixed reports about the quallity of RF Changers. Can anyone shed some light on this, bearing in mind that I just have the standard speaker system installed. Thanks. Piers

You could fit a newer Audi radio - usually plenty on EBay, and fit a Sony On-Top CD changer.
A friend had an RF cd changer though, and they thought it was ok.

dont get a newer audi unit or their cd changer. its expensive and the sound quality and functions are crap, trust i 1.
other systems are beta in every respect especially if u wana ice up ur car.
the black dash inserts to fit in a normal sized radio arnt all that bad lookin.
only downside radio facia wont glow red at nite like rest of the dash

Basically a RF cd changer uses radio frquencies (RF) to play back the cd's through the head unit if the head unit doesnt have a changer control.
U also need an FM modulator for it to work.
