I have an A3 T Sport which will soon be due its 20 000 mile service. However, the DIS is saying "SERVICE!" now, when there is still around 700 miles until the service is due. Is it OK to wait for the scheduled service or is the DIS trying to tell me something. Sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks to anyone who can help.
PS Love the pics of your S3 Greg!

It gives you chance to book it in, depends on how many miles you do, but generally its ok.
Besides, the 20K check is a service check - visual inspection and merely an oil change...as is 30K really I'm waiting for my 40K service as i am sure a few parts need cleaning replacing..brake pads!
You should find yours running smoother after the service (?) different oil I think - anyone know?

When mine first did it for it's 10,000 mile service I looked in the book and it says it gives you a 1000 miles warning but it gets a bit annoying, especially if you want to reset the trip meter after filling up! I wanted to get it done sooner rather than later and the first placed I phoned couldn't do it for a while and they said it was good for a 1000 miles either side of the service interval! Of course, the new Variable Service Interval vehicles will be different.<p>99 A3 quattro Sport
