Run flats in Europe + Audi official dealer in southern Germany, near Freiburg (DE) or Swiss border
Am in the market for A3 Sportback 3.2Q with DSG.
Have 2 questions:
1. Can anyone recommend me a knowledgeable and competent dealer in the Freiburg (DE) area, or another town in South Germany near the Swiss border?
So far I found this dealer:
Autohaus Gehlert GmbH & Co. KG
Tullastrasse 82
DE-79108 Freiburg
2. I may have missed something on the German Audi Konfigurator about fitting run-flat tyres. Is it available/recommended by Audi?
Thanks
Chris

Run-flats tend to be a little loud and the ride a bit harsh. Make sure those are trade-offs
you are willing to live with. They are usually best paired with a chassis and suspension desgined to work with run-flats.
A quick scan of the owner's manual, doesn't mention anything about run-flats.

some european countries have laws about tires
i don't know about germany and runflats, but in switzerland you cannot pass inspection without specific tires. you may want to check into the german laws before you get runflats.

Run flats are not avail in Swissland according to info from my canton's car inspection/homologation body so I gave up on the RF altogether for the A3.
BMW sells quite a few models with Run-Flats (Z4, 1 series..) but you must have the specified tyres which are legalised for Switzerland.
I test drove the Z4 3.0l with 17" run flats and noise isnt an issue top-down/up. A friend of mine has 16" RF on his 1 series and there too, noise in the cabin isnt noticeable.
