Does the S-tronic in the new A3's (2011 or 2012) have some kind of launch control? I've heard that some of the older ones might have had it but I can't find any definative answer.

No Audi has never equipped U.S. models with LC. you can get one of the aftermarket DSG reflashes to add it.

True, '06 3.2 has it, works just like Golf R32 one. You can reflash TCM and add LC and chang shift points and speed up ****ft times too.....

I just got a 2012 Audi A3 DSG and the car manual claims it has launch control, and I've gone through the process and it seems like it works. Drop it into 'S', turn off ECS, hold brake pedal for at least a second, then put the gas pedal to the floor, and let go of the brake. Good launch with controlled wheel spin. You can spin the front wheels pretty easily on the A3 so to me it was a noticeable difference between just mashing the pedal without the process and with it.

So I don't know if something changed or I'm just not familiar with how it should work, but that's my experience.
