Hi. I have a 2001 S3 with Bose speakers and Cd changer. All Cd's skip 1-6. Not affected by driving as it skips when stopped. CD Changer been replaced with a new one from audi dealership. This is doing my head in. Its so annoying. Might be volume related but surly the whole point of having BOSE speakers is so you can pump up the volume a little. Its not even very loud when it skips. Anyone with any ideas please email me... carlhuelin@hotmail.com
thanks

I had a similar problem with the stacker in my A3 1.6. I ended up with 4 different CD changers within the warranty period.
CD's would skip even when the car was stopped.
I thought it was the CD. The same CD would skip on the same track. But then when I changed the CD's around. The new CD in the stacker location would skip as well. I found it was time related. At the sime point in time from the beginning of a CD, it would skip - didn't matter which CD was in there. I got real sick of it sometimes.
So, I think it's probably mechanically realated.
BTW: The whole point about a BOSE sound system, is that you feel good about having a BOSE sound system. Other than a whole lot of fancy DSP, the components aren't much different. The DSP just provides extra feel good performance (quality?)... not necessarily volume.
