S3 over revving
Hi, I have a 2003 S3 (225bhp) that has just started to over rev when hanging up. Accelerating and changing up from 2nd to 3rd, revs increase for a few seconds when the clutch is dipped, then drop to normal. Just like I left my foot on the pedal - but I didn't. The harder I accelerate, the higher it revs.
Anyone come across this or any ideas?

It's OK mechanically. I'm guessing electrically too as it works fine in neutral and gentle acceleration. Tick over is spot on 800 rmp so I guess the mass air flow sensor is OK. All the vacuum hoses look good too. I'm thinking of purchasing a diag's too like the VAG 5053 or VAG-COM - got to be cheaper than taking it to the dealer. Any recommendations on diag's tools would be appreciated.
