I went for a test drive of the SRT4 (ya just can't beat the $$$ per hp!)
but was dismayed that I literally didn't fit in car, not without leaning the seat all the way back, at which point I could barely grab the wheel. all those weird "cab forward" sorts of designs can't accomodate someone with a long torso in the least.

anyone know when AOA will announce this?
i was going to special order an '07 a3 (dolphin grey w/roof rails) when the new order guide comes out in a month or two. if the s3 really is coming, i will extend my allroad lease for another year.

The only ones who know when it will be announced is AoA themselves.
And I bet at this point, they don't even know.
If it wants to be a 2008 model, available in the fall of 2007, they better start announcing it in the spring of 07 or earlier and take orders from July/August.
For you, that is a risky situation. If you really want the S3, I'd extend my current lease, but you need to expect last minute delays into October/November of 07.
All this is pure speculation which I really should not be getting into.
