he was a super nice car enthusiast and was one of the most helpful and friendly guys in the Porsche community...particularly on the internet....you can get some idea of how many people knew and liked him from reading any Porsche forum.
The biggest tragedy is he and his wife had just had a child :-/
The Porsche community is really going all-out in support...he was a self-made millionaire and a HARD CORE car nut.

that some poor working schmuck eats it because some street racer t-bones his Chevy Corsica while on his way to work. This guy was rich (owning a Ferrari 360 Stradale + GT), his passenger was rich (owning a Murcilago and about to take delivery of a GT), so their families will be taken care of - AND they were doing a track event, which everybody acknowledges is a high risk activity, in a car known for it's high strung character at higher speeds.

Just read all the guy (ben's) posts on the 6speed boards for the last few days, see what the guy was like.. wow.. Really did seem like a truly decent fellow- he might have been driving a cgt but he seemed like a really modest guy..after reading the posts he was leaving right up until that crash, and the reaction of all the people who knew the guy really gets you choked up.. cars are dangerous, dangerous toys and the kind of folks driving those serious porsches know it- still, a tragedy- but on the light side, if you love something that much, what better way is there to go? I know I'd prefer to die by my own hand and action, doing something I love. Just thought I'd put that in, the 6speed boards aren't my place so I just thought I'd shout that here for the audi folks. Drive safe!
