Ok so here is the 2nd to last step in operation A-Tre`. This weekend John and Chris from Bartech (Sacramental CA) got the ABT kit sprayed and mounted up. They also linked up my ABT quad-pipe exhaust. It is a single larger muffler, that has two stems running out to 2 pipes per side. Sounds wicket, too bad the traffic from Sactown to SF was crawling (25-30!) the whole way.

So here is the front end. It has to be done teaser style for the moment, I'll explain later. This is the first A3 sportback in the USA with the full ABT kit. This kit was lootcakes for sure, but if you want something done right, do it with German style. To me this is the least obtrusive kit. I love that those guys (ABT) kept the factory lines in order. Subtle is better. If anyone needs the sales reps name, drop me a line and I will be happy to give you his inflomation.

Ok, some answers to some questions. First for A3_Swords_T...It is a very understated sound, a bit deeper and throatier than stock, that is of course until you hit 3rd gear in the 2500rpm range then she sounds like a true autobahn masher! It has been raining up in SF these past few days so I have not had a chance to roll the windows down and hear it. I am a bigtime audiophile as well, so the car has a soundsystem and the exhaust does not disrupt it at all. I wanna turn the sound off now and go cruising about up in the skyline area with the windows down. Its quiet up there.
Last answer was for the costs of the kit. I got the ABT kit, ABT quadpipe, sprayed and mounted for something between $4999- and $5001-
The ABT rep is in Sacramento here is his info:
John Karl Keck (916)-716-1674
Here is a photo of Johns A4 and me ol' A3. With paint matched parking lamps. Totally legal i'm sure.........
