Okay, so my wife and I have been wanting to get the Sirius module for our new A3. We have Sirius in our old car and love it. My problem is, I am getting conflicting information from different dealerships. When I called my dealership (who admitted they knew very little about the A3), they told me that the only part I could use on the A3 was 8E0-057-593D. I asked if they were sure (because if I could use the 8E0-057-593 from an older A4 or something, I would be able to get one very cheap) and they said that they were sure.
Okay, so today, I find the first 8E0-057-593D on e-bay. I was fairly exceited because I have yet to see one on e-bay. It is still expensive ($460), but it is cheaper than buying directly from my dealership. So, wanting to be safe, I ask the e-bay seller if this unit will work in my car (base model A3 w/ Concert II head unit). The e-bay seller (an Audi dealer back east) says that the 8E0-057-593D will only work on 2006 A3's and A4's that have Nav+ OR the tire pressure sensor. My car doesn't have either of these options.
Can anybody set me straight... Do I need to get the 8E0-057-593D or can I save a few hundred dollars and get the 8E0-057-593.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Does this help? It's for the A4 but since the head units are the same, the sat receivers may be similar too.

http://b6s4.com/tsb/audi.tb.91-05-01.pdf</a

There are several receivers out there -- which one you need depends on whether or not you have Nav+. I think these part numbers I list below are for 2006. I have a 2005.5 A4 with Nav+ and my Sirius receiver is 8E0 035 593 D.
8E0 057 593 Sirius without RNS-E and without tire pressure monitoring system
8E0 057 593 A XM without RNS-E and without tire pressure monitoring system
8E0 057 593 D Sirius for RNS-E and/or with tire pressure monitoring system
8E0 057 593 E XM for RNS-E and/or with tire pressure monitoring system
8E0 057 593 Sirius without RNS-E and without tire pressure monitoring system
8E0 057 593 A XM without RNS-E and without tire pressure monitoring system
8E0 057 593 D Sirius for RNS-E and/or with tire pressure monitoring system
8E0 057 593 E XM for RNS-E and/or with tire pressure monitoring system

the modules in the A3 are not the same as any other model. Although your's pointed out a few details that would indicate some share the same one, depending on the specs.
My original Sirius module was faulty so the dealer ordered a replacement. They would have replaced it with another immediately if it shared the same part.
I mentioned this in another post, but I went ahead and had them order me an XM module instead.

Yes, that does help... thanks guys. By the way, where do you get a PDF like that? Do you have to know somebody who works at a dealership or can I get them somewhere on the web?

This was posted here a while ago, it's just hard to find sometimes.
I still haven't heard of any other part number but the 4 mentioned in the TB. You may want to contact clairparts.com to get a quote and order from them. The install has been described here too, see link for details.

2006 Audi A3 8P Concert II and Symphony II SAT Tuner Install
