they tone it down to 250hp like it's been rumoured, that is a lot of power to send through the front wheels. Yes, Alfa does it with the GTA, but it has a linear power delivery from a normally aspirated engine.
"The Europe-market Mazda3 MPS (for Mazda Performance Series) will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show, alongside the Kabura concept which debuted in Detroit in January.
The Mazda3 MPS, which will be marketed as the Mazdaspeed3 in North America, gets its zoom-zoom from a 2.3-liter MZR DISI (direct injection spark ignition) turbo engine, which Mazda says makes it one of the most powerful FWD high-performance sport compacts. The same direct-injection engine is used in the Mazdaspeed6, where it cranks out 274 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque in North American tune."

if mazda doesn't make this awd, like the mazadaspeed 6, and i don't think it can with this platform, this car will be a joke. i mean seriously, 280lb-ft to the front wheels? i wish marketing was done with power curves instead of peak power. you can't even use all that power, unless you put 19's in the front, and you'll still burn out, and torque steer yourself to death off the right side of the road if you apply more than 3/4 throttle.

P.S. Wheel diameter has little to do with the ability to put down power.<ul><li><a href="http://www.volvocars.us/Showroom/V50/Specifications/TechnicalSpecifications/">Volvo V50 Technical Specifications</a></li></ul>
