Default So I got my new aluminum pedals and searched the forum...

There are a bunch of posts from frustrated people who broke the wiring connector tab and the bottom tabs...and over on VWvortex there's a DIY that makes it seem like an easy ten minute job. I'm pretty handy, but want to be prepared.

Do I need the release tool for the bottom tabs (T10238)?
What is the "trick" on getting the wiring connector free?

TIA...and Happy Thanksgiving

Default after it breaks you will realize what you couldve done not to break it...

all you need to know is that breaking the harness tab is OKAY, the pedal is not going anywhere.

Default It sucks....

I tried for an hour and in frustration I went to my neighborhood VW/AUDI shop and the tech did it for me. He did not even charge me for his time (10 min).

Default Patience is the key to get connector off...and of course constant pressure on the release tab.

For the bottom tabs, use 2 flat screw driver.

Look at your new gas pedal and familiarize yourself on the bottom tabs. One needs to be pushed in while the other pushed aside.

I, too, had issues with the electrical tab. It took me some time to remove it.

I also transferred a green cylindrical plastic. I'm not sure what purpose it serves, probably a stopper.

That was the DIY on VWvortex I was referring to. Makes it look way easy. Hope it will be.

Thought about making a tool. If it works with a couple screwdrivers, won't bother. Thanks.
