15 minutes. All good...yes I broke the wiring connector tab...
but a couple screwdrivers saved the lower tabs. The wiring connector tab broke on the first exploratory press, before I was even ready to pull the connector! Connector still latches though, so no harm done. Should I get the dead pedal now? Humm...

I encountered the same problem. If you read further down in that thread on vwvortex you see other people being frustrated by the harness.
I tried to get it out for a half hour and couldn't then on my final attempt before giving up I broke it! Of course I got it out finally using a screwdriver and all is well now!
