It takes some time to get the courage to push it out on the track when mistakes are $$$$$$$$$
You laugh at them for getting out there and trying to learn how to drive a very powerful car? That's nice of you. The Viper will eat up your FWD-biased TT once they learn how to control the car.
I'd bet I know a few drivers who can hustle a lowly Miata around the track and lap your TT.
We all start our high-performance driving somewhere.

... it was my first time out there and their first time out there. They had an instructor, I had an instructor.
The outset was the same - we were all first timers on the track. Except, they had much more powerful cars.
I was trying to confirm April's point here. The Vipers are pieces of **** on the track unless you REALLY know what you are doing. The Viper family didn't - they came with all their $$$ and fancy equipment and proved that $ doesn't buy you skills (and I don't claim to have any).
The most impressive guy I saw that weekend was a guy in a stock (so he claimed) Plymouth Neon that was driving in the "Expert" group and got better lap times than most people, including some of the M3, Ferrari and Porsche instructor cars.
Yes, we all start our high-performance driving somewhere, and the Viper is a bad place to start.

Not much room for error, and you can get yourself in trouble very easily! A long straight with a low-powered car means you can't get to a stupid speed like a Viper would.
)
As much flak as neons get, I've seen people do some pretty impressive things with those cars.
I think PoS is a bit strong though.
