Default Sports Package worth it?

So I've been looking at this board over the last couple of weeks and been into the dealer. The dealer doesn't seem to think the sports package is very good, says the ride is hard.

Does it improve the performace how are the seats?

Thanks!

Adam

Default You need to work with another dealer then.

The sport package is great. Others can probably chime in on this that have more wheel time w/non-sport package. Seats are more supportive and better looking. Tighter feel and probably better feedback from the road to steering wheel. Stiffer spring rates, slightly lower than stock. Rear roof spoiler. Bi-colored 16 spoke alloy rims which I personally like a lot. Of course depending on the type of roads you have to deal with on a daily basis, that may decide which way to go. Here in Socal it's a non-issue. Either way you go is a win-win situation I think. A3 is a great little car.

Default The dealer...

shouldn't care what you get in the car, unless they don't have any with sport pkg in stock.
Perhaps they only have cars with premium pkg.

Default I have the Premium package and love it...

Your dealer should be telling you to test drive both extensively and decide which one you like, not what he thinks is worth it.

Default That depends on your personal preferences, not the dealer's.

However, I am glad to have the Premium package for the extra adjustability in the power seat. It allows me to angle the seat bottom for the least fatiguing position to operate the clutch. On a DSG car this might not be so critical.

Someone did mention that the seat bottom of the sport seats were a bit snug.

In the end, drive both. It's easier to add a suspension upgrade, spoiler, and wheels to the car later on, than add rain sensing wipers, homelink, and the power seat found in the Premium package.

Default Power seat rules! I know I got tired of using that wheel to adjust

seat incline on my old B6 Avant with Sport.

Default Do you share the car? I figured if there's only one

driver you don't typically need to constantly adjust the seat settings.

Default I like manual seats, but the range of adjustment is better with power seats.

The old B3/B4 Passats had these insane seats with what seemed like a ton of dials and levers. You could adjust them any which way, despite being manual.
