it's horribly dangerous. If you get snow/cold weather in the winter you will dangerous on the road with summer/performance tires.
Just use all-season tires year round if you can't change to snows in the winter.
The summer tires aren't going to dramatically change the A3 anyway.

I thought Tulsa got pretty cold in the winter, even if there wasn't any snow. I've only been there in the fall and summer.
One thing I found with the winter tires on my last car, when I was late to put the snows on, was that summer tires aren't just bad in the snow. They're also pretty dreadful once the temp drops below the high 30s. Could be from the rubber compound hardening up due to the cold or something, but stopping ability went into the crapper, and I had to be fairly careful, until I could manage to get the snows on. And, you best hope you don't find yourself on black ice. The ABS appear to be are quite good, but, I'd prefer not to testing them out on a regular basis.
I believe that tire rack, and a few other places out there will give you the optimal operating temps for tires.
(Nothing like leaving the country for a few weeks for work, and coming home to find the car, with summer tires on it, sitting in a foot of early season snow.)
