Even though the oil level is correct, I think it takes time for the system to decide that we are back to normal.

I found Mobil 1 5-40 in Mountain View, CA, which said "turbo diesel truck" oil on it.
I trusted science and thought that all 5-40s are the same.

Actually they might be able to tell when they drained it, depending on how long ago it was changed.
Royal Purple, as the name implies, is actually dyed purple (like trans fluid is dyed red) so it's not hard to tell it from any other oil.
