Default TDi and winter time

I bought in August this year a new A3 1.9TDI(130)and I'm very happy with it. I have just made the first 5000 km.
Now the winter just arrived and the temperatures bellow 0 are normal these days (-10C deg.).
Since I'm not experienced in diesel engines at all, I'm wondering if someone could give me some hints on what should I do at these temperatures to make sure that I will not face any problems!
Thank you in advance!

Thanks! I suppose easy-start is some kind of an additive (told you i'm lousy at diesel engines and english is not my native language)! I was considering using something like it. What's the pros and cons?

Default use diesel additive every second tank, it helps to clean

the lines and prevent any build-up..
take about minute to two to warm up in the morning in the winter, and after long drive to cool down a bit as well

easy start is a spray that you use by spraying into the inlet pipes, will wreck your engine, most fuel here(in uk) comes with additive in but you can add your own as well.

thanks a lot! i'll keep that in mind; the only improvement I've made for the winter are the winter tyres (dunlop winter sport m3). seems ok to me!

You really don't need to add any additives for driving your diesel in the winter. As the cold weather approaches, all stations recieve diesel with additives added to prevent the diesel from clogging up. So just be sure to tank at stations that seem to be visited regularly (otherwise they could still be serving you diesel without the additives).
Watch out when driving to colder regions. If you fill het up in Spain and drive to Holland, you could get in trouble.
NEVER ever mix your diesel with regular fuel, though this is sometimes recommended. It will wreak havoc on your engine.

Thanks Johan! The local Audi dealer told me to use only euro-diesel and pointed me to which stations should I go for it. I guess I'll stick with that! It has been now the fourth week with temperatures bellow 0 deg Celsius and everything seems to be ok!
