is there anything that i can have the dealer program before i take delivery
is there anything that i can have the dealer program before i take delivery?
For example when you buy a new BMW there is a whole list of settings that you can have them program just the way you want it.....thanks

One door or all door unlock with remote. Some but not all dealers will do the remote
window roll down/up. Steering effort can be set as well, since steering is electric. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff.
Most people don't view it as such a big deal because of the availability of the Ross Tech cable that lets you run VAG COM diagnostics and set the same items that your dealer does. Even if you don't buy one, you'll encounter people at GTGs who bring their own. Stand outside the car and hold the unlock button down for about 20 seconds or so. If the
windows don't all roll down, then it's not enabled. Thanks to our sue happy society, dealers are relucatant to enable this feature since it disables the pinch protection. Some will do it, others may want you to sign a waiver, and still others won't do it at all. The pinch protection still works if you use the buttons inside the car, but not when you use the remote.
If you have a friend with a VAG-COM, you can do it yourself. Just search this forum or the Ross-Tech site for the codes.
