Default And they say it can't be done...

Well may short 2.5 month wait is over. I am picking up my sold order Lava Grey A3 this week. Equipped with Sport, Cold Weather, Convenience and Bi-Xenon lights. That's right folks, Convenience and Bi-Xenon lights. When I ordered the car in August, the rumblings of "You can't order that" was just starting. The key here is that you can order anything if you know how to go about it. My "trick" was to have the dealer consult the Factory rep that comes around from time-to-time, asking them to add the codes to the system. The Factory rep agreed to the request and the order was submitted. Now the car is here. I had the sales person fax me the sticker today and it totally checks out. All items are listed as ordered. I am looking forward to the driving experience and to share technical and road stories with you all. I am now working on having the NEW factory iPod integration kit installed. Hoping to have in before I pick the car up but it may not be readily available yet. The parts counter could not find the new order code. I'll Keep you posted...

See the linked document for my source.

Default Re: Mark Sirota (OT)

Sorry, but are you by chance the brother of Josh? I bought Josh's old M Coupe when I lived out in the Bay Area (now live in Providence), also recently ordered an A3. He mentioned to me his brother was looking at A3's.

Default Nope. your post refers to the old cable harness...

On 9/21/05 AOA announce a new cable harness to be exclusive to the 2006 A3. It will provide support for both SAT radio and ipod in one cable. Newer Audis may adapt to this cable later on. It should hold 6 playlists. Part # not available yet.

Default Correct. it would not have... The Factory Rep. made the change directly.

Ask your dealer to engage the Factory Rep. They can push it through if you press the issue.

Default Still five.

The press release for which you provided the URL (thanks!) still says five.
