time for new tires!
so i am at 26+k, and contemplating replacing my old pirelli's.
good year eagle f1 look pretty good, but i am wondering what other tires you guys have, and how you like them.
i basically want a solid quiet tire for seattle roads (wet, dry, with an occasional snow adventure).
thanks much,
mark.

Eagles are NOT for the snow. I had some put on last March...we got a freak snow storm
I was downtown at the time and drove home...managed to make it close to home...on a very slight downgrade it took me 2 blocks to stop the car! Parked the car and walked home.

X2...If you want to use them all year summers should not be used.
Even if no snow..when cold and wet summers are horrible...like driving on hockey pucks. Stopping time is worse as is handling and everything else. Either go with summers and winters or if you don't want to do that get all seasons. Like April said tho while all seasons are useable for all seasons...they aren't really good at doing anything. I had Pirelli P-Zero MS...not a bad tire, but useless in the snow.

Another vote for T1R's for summer, read below, they are tough
After reading about weak sidewall issues with the goodyears, I tried out a set of the T1R's last spring. I hit an off-ramp curb at about 50 mph in the rain, ruined both the front and back rims with huge dents. The tires came through unscathed.
They are crap in any temperture below 45 degrees. My advice is get dedicated summer tires and a set for winter. Seattle weather is about the same as here in Portland, pretty mild. We are lucky that we can usually get away with summer tires from April to November.
