Tire question for folks in the Bay area

Hi All,
Time for new sneakers. One of the Pirelli P6's just went flat. So it seems like a good time to get rid of the slippery Florsheims and get some good running shoes.
Here's my question. Ultrahigh performance all-seasons or max performance summer? I'm a fairly casual driver, just hate the feeling that the P6's are going to let go on those on ramps when I'm feeling frisky. Living in the Bay area the temp. rarely goes below 40 degs. These will be my year round tires. Anyone in the Bay area running summer tires all year?
I'm thinking of the Goodyear F1, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, or Pirelli PZero Nero M&S.
I'd be most grateful for any feedback. I poked around in the search forums, but I thought I'd see what you good guys and gals in the Bay area think.

anyway), I am extra cautious about shady cool hollows that might hide icy patches, but no problem thus far.
My Toyo T1R have been quite nice on the track and street.

They don't do anything very well, they are adequate to mediocre at just about everything though; a performance car should have performance tires. The only time I buy A/S tires is when they come on a new car, at the first chance to replace them they are gone.
For the few times the temps drop below 40 you'll be fine with summer rubber, though you do need to be a bit more careful driving on them as their grip will be diminished until they get up to temp.
I run Toyo T1S (new version is T1R and supposedly solves some of the T1S shortcomings) on my Miata and have been happy with them for a high-performance street tire. If you're really looking for some stick see if the Azenis 615 comes in A3 friendly sizes. They are a very fun tire!

I'm running my first set of Pilot Sport A/S tires and they're perfomed admirably in the rain. Granted, we haven't had much in San Diego this year.
Good luck!

If you are not going to use them on snow then get summer tires. I have the 18" wheels options and the Pirelli PZero. As you know we had a LOT of rain this year and the PZero's performance on the wet was exceptional.
If you are going to drive on snow then get four steel wheels with real snow tires from Tire-Rack....

Got the new shoes together with a set of BBS CH 18s. They are highly rated on TireRack and appear to have sufficiently good wet traction.
Since I doubt I'll be taking my A3 2.0T up to Tahoe frequently during winter, I decided against M&S all seasons. While all seasons have improved over the years, I agree that they are still a noticeable compromise when it comes to dry handling.
