Tires for A3 1.6
Hi,
Just about to order my new 1.6 A3. Went into the showroom yesterday and fond out that in Ireland they're fitting Firestone tyres (arrgghh) by default. I know that the recall only affected some tires models, but I'd feel a lot better having a different brand.
So, what should I ask for instead?

Re: Tires for A3 1.6
I had Firestones as std on my 1.8, YUK ! ask for Michelin pilots or Goodyear, I've gone off Pirelli's, I don't think the cheaper tyres are as good as they used to be.
See if you can increase the width and drop the profile ie 195/65 to 205/60's - mind you if your experience is anything like mine Audi will charge you about £200, it was cheaper to get the car and pay to change the tyres myself.

I have Continentals ContiEco on my 1.8T and they SUCK!!! I was very sutisfied by the Bridgestones B530 on my previous Golf III GTI. I would recommend Bridgestones, even the B320s (perhaps B340s ????)...
