Default Track an A3 @ HPDE? Need advice

I have a JCW MINI today that I run about 10-12 times a year at club track days. Well thats great, but theres a kid on the way....and I think the MINI is going to be too small. Im comitted to Audi for my next car...and while teh RS4 is brilliant and all that, kids, Im told are expensive. The Stasis A3 options look very nice.

Will I totally want to kill myself from unhappiness if I take an A3 to the track? I think from what Stasis tells me, the answer is no...but Id like some others to give me feedback.
thanks

Default I've had mine there (3.2) and had a blast..

Not the same as a mini, obviously, but tons of fun.

Default The only real shortcoming I encountered on a tight course was getting the front end

to hook up with all the torque coming in at such a low rpm. At 1800 rpm you're lugging, then BAM! the torque kicks in and the inside tire is spinning. Install the Stasis mechanical limited slip and I'm sure a lot of that goes away.

Oh, and the car understeers in stock form - but that is easy enough to cure by stiffening the rear relative to the front.

And watch out for voiding the warranty.

Absolutely true! I did only a driving school once to test the limits.

Default I'd say having insurance issues are more worrisome than warranty

But, a general rule is if you can't afford to push your car off a cliff, don't take it the track. Things happen out of your control sometimes...like a car in front of you blowing coolant all over the track in a braking zone, etc.

Default You'll do just fine.

I have video of me passing an RS4 with my GTI VR6. A lot of it has to do with how well you're able to drive the car.

FWIW, plenty of A3s show up at the ACNA/NEQ events I attend.

Default Thanks everyone. I know all about the concerns, been tracking/racing cars for years, more

concerned about the way the car will perform. Im pretty quick, can handle a car. Ive most recently been running Radical SR3's.

but thats all about to change with the life change, so I was trying to readjust my expectations. I still want to go to club trackdays for the fun, and safety, of driving fast on the track....

The Stasis A3 setups seem well sorted out over stock. Anyone have this setup?

Im just hoping that its not going to be a major disapointment if I do take it to the track. Dont want to feel like my new car handles like a Hertz rental...

Default Feel free to click on the link in my signature

The video I have of the RS4 is messed up because the camera forgot my zoom setting....needless to say I'm rather upset about that. But the link in my signature should fix you right up. :-)
