Default Trailer Hitch with bumper

Just finished cutting the lower valance...very crude now, just wanted to see if everything would fit. As expected, all that had to be cut was the short horizontal run at the bottom. It looks awesome, a true hidden hitch. What you see in the photo comes off, and you see nothing when removed...i repeat...nothing, it looks great.

The last photo is of the prototype....10" too short...didn't get a chance to take a photo of the new one before i put it on...

Default I wouldn't think so. There are several differences with the 3.2 floor pan and rear layout

that makes the hitch fitting slightly unlikely.

Default Nice work. Very clean!

I've been waiting patiently for this to be developed. Hopefully by springtime all will be well. How is it going with a wiring harness? Hopefully my new AWE exhaust did not change the spacing requirments. Thanks for the picts.

Default We'll test to confirm, but it should because of how it's designed.

It mounts to the bumper supports, not the rear floorpan.

Default The ballmount clears both the standard, S-Line and Votex valences...

The photos posted show the first prototype on Joe's car.

Here are the photos of the second prototype installed on my car.

It doesn't attach to the underside of the floorpan, so that's irrelevant.

Default Anyone have a pic of the 3.2Q with the rear bumper removed?

It'd be easy to tell if it would fit, my bet is that it will. it's a very simple design, and i bet the rear bumper and frame connection is the same as the 2.0T.

Default I'm not sure I'd trust the bumper supports

They're only held to the rear valence sheet metal by three bolts each, which probably aren't meant to hold any tension loading.

Have you considered extending the nut plates into longer bars that extend inside the frame tubes and bolt to the existing hitch mounting holes? This way, you have a direct connection to the chassis without loading the bumper mounts.
